Petrus Jozef Triest passed away on 24 June 1836 at a quarter past twelve in the afternoon. Benedict De Decker and some Sisters were present with him. The general secretary of the Congregation, Sr Perpetua De Schuyter, sent a daily report to all superiors during the week prior to his death. On 30 June she wrote a complete report of what happened during the last illness of their founder, together with his last sayings. We made a recording of this letter which one can listen to during the visit to the chamber.
It is possible to listen to a fragment of the recording here. (fragment takes 400kb in mp3 format)
